Referral resources allow clients to take a piece of information home with them to prepare for next steps.
The type of resource given depends on how much involvement the client wishes volunteers to have at the site.
The two types include:
Soft referral: A light touch. Clients receive these flyers containing an organization’s contact information so the client can call them for information and sign up.
Hard referral: A direct touch. Clients receive these flyers after a volunteer has submitted a referral for them online, scheduled an appointment, or pulled a credit report.
