‘Helping People Get Ahead and Stay Ahead’

United Way of King County’s Housing Ready & Crisis Resilient and Streets to Home AmeriCorps Programs are working to ensure people are housed and financially stable in King County.

United Way’s main goal for the Streets to Home AmeriCorps Program is to increase housing and financial stability for low-income individuals seeking services at site locations. Under this mission, there are a number of measurable goals to accomplish:

  • AmeriCorps members will be equipped with a menu of services and financial resources to contribute to the larger Financial Stability Team goals of providing interventions to 10,000 low-income people
  •  4,000 people will receive assistance in accessing housing and/or the Coordinated Entry for All system
  •  1,500 people experiencing homelessness will connect with a clear housing pathway
  • Build relationships with the community and engage partners in this work
  • Develop and execute programming, events, and activities to engage people from every angle of this work

United Way’s main goal for the Ready & Resilient Project is to increase housing and financial stability for low-income individuals seeking services at site locations. Under this mission, there are a number of measurable goals to accomplish:

  • AmeriCorps members will be equipped with a menu of services and financial resources to provide interventions to 10,000 low-income people
  • 3,000 people will improving financial knowledge as a direct result of AmeriCorps intervention
  • 1,500 people experiencing homelessness will connect with a clear housing pathway
  •  Build relationships with the community and engage partners in this work
  •  Develop and execute programming, events, and activities to engage people from every angle of this work

Overall, both teams will partner with local agencies to accelerate the impact of United Way’s work to lift 50,000 people out of poverty and reduce the unsheltered population by 50% by the year 2020.
